One dead after Japanese government car causes multivehicle crash

A man in his 30s died and 8 others got injured after the Japanese government’s official car rammed into a car on January 22.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the Cabinet Office official vehicle ran a red light and entered the intersection. It collided into a passenger car that was pushed forward and struck other vehicles.

A passenger who was in a taxi died from the accident.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the accident as a possible case of dangerous driving causing death or injury.
