Tokyo Game Show is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

The number of exhibitors has reached a record 1,138 companies from Japan and overseas.

The event has also been extended from four days last year to five days this year, running from September 17 to 21, with organizers expecting about 300,000 visitors.

The global gaming market continues to expand each year, with last year's market size estimated at more than 32.1 trillion yen, up 3.5 percent from 2024.
