Crowbar-wielding suspects flee after breaking into Tokyo safe deposit box
A group of suspects broke into a safe deposit box facility in Tokyo on July 6, forced open a vault with crowbars, and fled the scene.
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, they received an emergency call around 2AM that people armed with crowbars were ransacking the premises at a safe deposit box facility.
Police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed that the facility's vault had been forced open.
Investigators believe several suspects smashed a window to gain entry and used crowbars to pry open the vault within just a few minutes. Authorities are still determining whether anything was stolen. No injuries were reported.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the case as a burglary and is searching for the suspects who fled the scene.
