Mitsubishi Motors eyes mass production of humanoid robots

Kato Takao, Chairman of Mitsubishi Motors / Japan's population is declining. As we look for ways to efficiently pass on the skills and expertise of experienced workers, humanoid robots have tremendous potential.

Mitsubishi Motors announced that it is considering jointly developing humanoid robots with Highlanders, a robotics startup spun off from the University of Tokyo, and deploying them at its own manufacturing plants.

The company is also considering mass production and aims to establish a manufacturing system capable of producing 1,000 robots per month as early as 2027.
