People flock to Tokyo's famous cherry blossom viewing spot along Meguro River

Many people flocked to Tokyo’s famous cherry blossom viewing spot along the Meguro River on April 7.

S/ Hidaka Mizuki, Nippon TV reporter: This area is crowded with people. Everyone is walking slowly and looking at the cherry blossoms.

This is the first Sunday since cherry blossoms reached full bloom in central Tokyo earlier in the week.

S/ Boy: More flowers have bloomed than before and it’s beautiful.

S/ His mother: I was surprised because there weren’t this many people when we came here the year before last. But it’s fun.

S/ Woman in her 20s: I came from Hyogo, western Japan, to get together with my friend. We came to see the cherry blossoms and bought photogenic drinks and took a lot of pictures.

At Nakameguro Station, DJ police were dispatched to guide the visitors. Officials said there was no major confusion
