Visitors flocked to Ueno Park on April 5 after a week of rain and cold temperatures in Tokyo.

The mercury rose to 17 degrees on April 5, making it a warm spring day like the usual years.

Tourists from inside and outside Japan  filled up the park that is famous for the country’s iconic sakura flowers.

Visitor / I came here at 6:30 in the morning to get us a seat. I sent everyone a photo and told them I was able to secure space for us, and they all came.

Cherry blossoms in the capital reached full bloom on April 30.
