"Don't Quit Ishiba" demonstration held in Tokyo amid increased calls for his resignation
Mitsukuni Yousuke, NTV Reporter: Many people have gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office in response to calls on social media for Ishiba not to resign.
The demonstration in support of current Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru happened on the evening of July 25.
Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, holding up placards they had brought with them and shouting slogans such as ‘Ishiba, keep going! Don't quit!’
Additionally, some participants expressed curiosity about the reasons behind those urging him not to resign, suggesting that the gathering was not limited to mere supporters of Prime Minister Ishiba.
The person believed to be the organizer posted on social media that they do not support Ishiba, but that he is more suitable for the position than other Liberal Democratic Party of Japan candidates who are being considered as possible replacements.
