SHEIN and Temu announce price hikes in response to Trump tariffs

China-founded fast fashion retailer Shein and e-commerce giant Temu announced price hikes for the US market in response to President Donald Trump’s tariffs and executive order.
Shein posted on its website that it will adjust prices starting April 25 to offer products without compromising on quality.
The fast fashion brand encouraged US consumers to make purchases before prices rise.
Shein explained that “changes in global trade rules and tariffs” have increased operating costs leading to the price hike.
According to Reuters, Chinese low-cost e-commerce company Temu announced price hikes stating the same reasons.
Additionally, President Trump signed an executive order ending a customs exemption allowing goods worth less than $800 to be imported duty-free, which will take effect on May 2. The tax will transfer to consumer costs for the two retail giants.
