Earth Valley offers panoramic view of Owakudani in Hakone hot springs

A new facility called Earth Valley offers a panoramic view of Owakudani, a volcanic valley and tourist attraction in the Hakone hot springs area of Kanagawa Prefecture, southwest of Tokyo.

S/ Nasu Masato, NTV Reporter / The floor here is made of glass and the deck juts out onto the valley. We can experience Owakudani up close in 360 degrees.

The observation deck is located about 8 meters above the valley where steam can be seen spouting out.

It offers immersive views of nature that are different from the scenery that can be seen from cable cars that operate over Owakudani.

Another deck at the facility has counters where visitors can eat while taking in the view.

Earth Valley opened on April 25, ahead of Japan's Golden Week holidays from late April to early May.

An official of Odakyu Hakone expressed hope that visitors will feel the power of Earth and enjoy the new facility.
