Smartphone battery burns Tokyo apartment, injures six
A fire believed to have been caused by a mobile battery burned an apartment and injured six residents on September 25.
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, a resident living in an apartment building in Tokyo called emergency services, reporting that a fire broke out from a mobile battery.
The fire is believed to have started from the woman’s mobile battery she was using to charge her smartphone while she slept.
The woman suffered burns on her neck and was transported to the hospital.
Five other residents of the apartment building sustained minor injuries.
Police believe that the battery was the source of the fire.
