Milan Cortina Olympic pairs figure skating champions Miura Riku and Kihara Ryuichi announced their engagement on social media on August 23.

Known affectionately as the Riku-Ryu pair, 24-year-old Miura and 34-year-old Kihara shared photos of their engagement rings and an on-ice proposal wearing the same costumes used for the Milan Cortina Olympics in February.

They posted a message that read, “Through happy and tough times, we have spent a lot of time together, supporting each other along the way. Before we knew it, we had become irreplaceable and indispensable to each other. We are truly happy to finally be able to share this news with everyone. We hope to continue supporting each other and move forward step by step in our own way. We would be grateful if you continue to watch over us warmly.”
