Japan marks 3 years since former PM Abe Shinzo's assassination

Three years ago on July 8, former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo was fatally shot while giving a campaign speech in front of Kintestsu Yamato-Saidaiji Station in Nara City, western Japan.

At a flower stand set up on July 6 by a local volunteer group, many people came early morning to lay flowers and pay their respects to the former prime minister.

We still don’t know the truth. I hope everything will be brought to light.

Many people have also been visiting Mikasa Cemetery in Nara City, where a memorial stands for the late Prime Minister Abe.
