A foreign woman was fatally stabbed inside an apartment in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture on July 6.

According to police, a male neighbor in Hamamatsu City called emergency services on July 6 saying that he heard a woman screaming, and that when he went outside, he saw a man dressed in black walking away.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found a 20-year-old Indonesian national lying on the floor with stab wounds inside her apartment.

She was taken to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Later on, a man believed to be a foreign national and dressed in black was struck and killed by a train nearby.

Police are investigating whether the man's death is connected to the fatal stabbing.
