Japan's Prince Hisahito attends autumn imperial ancestral rites as adult imperial family member
Prince Hisahito attended the autumn imperial ancestral rites on September 23.
He bowed from inside the car together with his sister, Princess Kako, upon arrival at the Imperial Palace.
The autumn imperial ancestral rites take place at Tokyo's Imperial Palace every year. Two rituals are held at an area that enshrines past emperors and a separate area that enshrines the country’s deities.
Emperor Naruhito, Crown Prince Fumihito, Crown Princess Kiko and other imperial family members joined the rites.
It was the first time Prince Hisahito, who completed his Coming-of-Age ceremony on September 6, participated in an imperial rite as an adult member of the imperial family.
