A 12-year-old British girl visiting Japan with her family went missing on August 13.

Tokyo police said on August 14 that they have launched a public search for Carmelita Lakdesha Paul.

According to the police, Paul was last seen on security camera footage leaving a rented private lodging in Tokyo’s Ota Ward alone at about 8:30 a.m. on August 13.

As she does not have a smartphone or other means of communication, police shifted to a public search and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Paul is about 160 centimeters tall with curly black hair and was last seen wearing a light blue sleeveless shirt.
