Unexploded ordnance found at Hiroshima University again

What appeared to be an unexploded ordnance was found during construction of a lecture building at Hiroshima University's Kasumi Campus on August 5.

A security guard found the object, approximately 60 centimeters long and 15 centimeters in diameter.

Traffic regulations were in place while the Ground Self-Defense Force worked together with police officers to remove the object.

The Kasumi Campus of Hiroshima University was the site of a former army facility at the time of the Pacific War.

The university has been on summer break since August 4, just a day before the object was found. The university hospital located on the same grounds planned to continue providing medical services as usual.
