Kids tour the Tokyo Stock Exchange

August is a time when many children head to the beach.

But a group of kids in Japan are using their summer vacation to learn about the economy.

The kids toured the Tokyo Stock Exchange and an office of a major bank.

At the Tokyo Stock Exchange, they got a peak at actual stock trading.

At Resona Bank, the kids got a feel for how much 100-million yen weighs.

They took turns holding ten thousand 10,000-yen bills, which weighs 10 kilograms.

That’s worth about one million US dollars.
